Winter Weather and Those Who Work Through It

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
As the snow begins to fall, most Fayetteville residents will still be tucked away in their cozy warm beds. There are, however, several groups of people who won`t be so lucky. The police and the those working for wrecker services. Two professions that work extremely hard and long days when the winter weather turns foul. Fayetteville Police have already switched out the tires on their cruisers to snow tires and tow truck drivers will stay on call and busy until the streets dry out. Corporal Dan Montgomery says Fayetteville will often work around 100 accidents an hour during inclement winter weather. He says officers don`t dread the experience and actually look forward to the overtime. The same can be said of Lee Dancer. He has been working for a towing company for about three years now and he says he`s worked about eleven heavy winter storms. The work is hard, according to Dancer, but it`s also rewarding. Monetarily, that is.
