The Pulse: Country Singer Mindy McCready is Dead

This is Sunday night's edition of -- The Pulse.
Number five -- Racecar Driver Danica Patrick roared into NASCAR history, as she became the first woman to win the pole position for the Daytona 500. She will start in the front row in the February 24 race, alongside Jeff Gordon. In her first full year as a NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver, Patrick put up a qualifying speed of close to 200 mph.
Number four -- Demonstrators urged President Obama to honor his inaugural pledge to act on climate change. They are asking him to reject the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline proposal, as they formed a *uman pipeline leading to the White House. The pipeline would carry oil from Canada through the United States to the Gulf of Mexico.
Number three -- A group of protesters supporting cop killer Christopher Dorner picketed outside a police department in Los Angeles. They said they don't agree with Dorner's actions, but accuse the police of brutality and corruption. Officials said Dorner killed four people and died from a single bullet wound to the head during a police standoff last week.
Number two -- The reality show featuring Reeva Steenkamp debuted just two days after she was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend olympic running sensation Oscar Pistorius. Reaction to the reality show in South Africa is mixed. Some feel its airing is opportunistic, but the shows creator said "Reeva was an intelligent, beautiful and amazing woman, and we feel it would be an injustice to keep that unknown from those who didn't know her personally." Pistorius is facing a charge of premeditated murder and will be back in court on Tuesday.
Number one -- Country music star Mindy McCready is dead. The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office confirmed they found McCready inside her Heber Springs home with a single gun shot wound to the head. The singer had been in and out of rehab battling addiction and mental health issues. McCready died at age 37 and leaves behind two children. Her body is being taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further investigation.
