Bentonville to Convert One-Way Street to Two-Way

By: KNWA News
Updated: March 1, 2013
A portion of Northwest A Street in Bentonville will be closed Wednesday as they change it from one-way to two-way.
The street will be closed between E. Central and Northeast 2nd Streets starting Wednesday, March 6 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The closure is necessary for work associated with changing that section of NE "A" street from its current one way north movement to a permanent two-way north and south movement in front of the Courthouse on the East side of the square.
Crews will remove the existing parking space markings and install new center-line striping and signs. There will also be a stop sign placed at the intersection with E. Central for south bound traffic.
Once the work is complete, parking will no longer be allowed on that one block section of Northeast "A" street.
According to the city officials, the change will result in better traffic flow in the area and provide an alternate path during the activities hosted near the Bentonville Square area.
Weather and other unforeseen circumstances could delay the closure.
