In a bipartisan letter to the health appropriations subcommittee, Boozman encouraged a $200 million increase in funding for the centers, which serve underserved rural and urban communities.
There are nearly 5,000 community, migrant, public housing, and homeless health center sites in the United States. Health centers operate in rural and urban communities that are designated as medically underserved because heathcare is either scarce or non-existent, providing affordable, quality care for less than $1.50 per patient, per day.
