Gov. Beebe Asks Feds For Help

By: Lisa Brence
Updated: May 1, 2007
Governor Mike Beebe has asked for federal help for Arkansas farmers with crops damaged by the April cold snap. Beebe met with the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tuesday, and says he hopes the government will approve the request, and do so faster than it did for aid after the Dumas tornado. Because of the freeze, Beebe has declared a state of emergency for 52 of Arkansas 75 counties.
