(Newport, AR) -- An elderly Newport man is dead after a wreck in that White County city Monday. Arkansas State Police say 85-year-old J.D. Huey Jr. was killed when he failed to yield to a tractor-trailer rig while making a turn on Highway-14E. Investigators say Hueys car was struck by the big rig, left the roadway, rolled over, and Huey was thrown from his car before it turned back over onto its tires. The 18-wheeler left the road and slammed into a utility pole injuring the driver, 70-year-old Paul Porter of Cave City.
