Many do not know that Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton sat on the board of directors at Wal-Mart.
The New York Times reports that in 1986, Sam Walton was under pressure from shareholders and his wife to appoint a woman to the board. That woman was Hillary Clinton.
She served for six years, and her time at Wal-Mart remains a little known chapter in her closely scrutinized career.
She steers clear from her association with the retailer. In fact, she returned a $5,000 campaign donation from the giant discount chain in 2005, citing "serious differences" with its practices.
Tune in Monday night for more on Clintons association with Wal-Mart, on KNWA, Northwest Arkansas News.
