Meet 45-year-old Gary Patterson: father, business owner, cancer survivor. Gary beat the odds against testicular cancer nearly 12 years ago. Its something that changed his life - after his doctor noticed an abnormality.
Since then, Gary has completely changed his eating habits, and makes sure his kids do the same.
So as part of mens health week, Gary and other doctors are getting the message out to men of all ages to take care of themselves, and the first step is getting to the doctor for a yearly checkup; another is eating right.
Scott Musick is a doctor in Bentonville and says many dont realize that testicular cancer affects more young men than older men. Musick says men should start getting checked for testicular cancer in their teens.
