The Fort Smith Police responded to a 911 call this morning from the First National Bank in the Phoenix Village mall on Towson Avenue. Police describe the suspect as a white male with a medium build and was wearing a ball cap, sunglasses and black gloves. Bank Tellers told police that the robber gave them a note saying "This is a stick up" then demanded money and walked out. As the robber was leaving the bank, a bank employee says she walked into the bank and thought he looked suspicious and got the tag number off of his vehicle. The robber was driving a Blue Buick with an Arkansas Tag number 309LJJ. The Fort Smith Police have Billy Wayne Farris as a person of interest but, say he is not a suspect at this time. Fort Smith Police have not made any connection with the other First National Bank robbery in Fort Smith and the two Arvest Bank robberys in Fayetteville. If you have any information on this robbery please call the Fort Smith Police Department.
