The Greenland School Board decided on Tuesday to deny the transfer of twenty-eight former Winslow students who hopes to transfer to West Fork. According to state law, there are too many white and black students in West Fork. Meaning any additional would have to go to another school. Namely Greenland. many parents were opposed to that, but went unheard at the meeting on Tuesday night. Only nineteen students were allowed to transfer to West Fork. Four for medical reasons and fifteen because they had siblings who already attended the school. There is no appeal process for parents, but officials from both schools say each has plenty to offer.
