Wednesday night police picked Daniel Bibiano up from the Fort Smith Airport. They read him his rights and transported him to the Benton County Jail. Thursday morning Bibiano faced prosecutors at the Benton County Courthouse. Bibiano pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape, two counts of second degree sexual assault and one count of attempted rape.
Last March, Bentonville police began investigating Bibiano for sexual assault against five children. They issued an arrested warrant for the illegal resident. After searching for Bibiano Bentonville police contacted the U.S. Marshals office. Marshals believed Bibiano fled to his home country. Federal prosecutors issued a warrant for unlawful flight. Marshals traveled to Jalisco, Mexico and arrested Bibiano. He remained in a Mexican jail until this week when he was flown back to Arkansas.
