Some people in the gated community of Stone Gate are concerned.
Their worries are congested roads, noise and bright parking lot lights.
"We consider ourselves to be one of the Fort Smiths premier communities. So, we are trying to maintain the integrity and certainly the upkeep wether you are talking the business structure as well as the landscaping and the parking lot. We are concerned about that." said Stone Gate Resident, Thomas James Wiley Sr.
Resident, Alan Kessler says the nursing home could work well in the area.
"If it complies with the various deed restrictions and meets the appropriate zoning restrictions and we solve the other issues, then I think it would be a good neighbor." said Alan Kessler.
Riley Farm Real Estate and Development sold the commercial property and says its the ideal setting for a nursing home.
"We feel like its a good location for it. Its quite, its out aways and a nursing home is a quite type of establishment." said Riley Farm Developer Ronald Rouse.
Construction on the nursing home could start in the next month.
