This new company on Clayton Expressway will manufacture barges and towboats on the arkansas river.
Owner, Dave Reidt, says transportation on the river is economical and affordable.
"You can carry enough wheat in one barge to make a million loaves of bread. Thats why a loave costs 2 dollars. If you didnt have barge transportation for wheat, that same loave of bread would cost you fifty-five dollars" said Dave Reidt.
Reidt also says they will have their first barge on the water in about 4 to 5 months and will start hiring next week.
