The federal government wants a Pittsburgh man's sentence reconsidered, after learning letters to his judge urging leniency were fake. Michael Fortino, who was arrested in Fayetteville in 2005 for possessing child porn, was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison on Tuesday. After federal prosecutors filed a motion for reconsideration of his sentence, Fortino could acquire even more time in prison. Prosecutors said letters were sent to U.S. District Judge Jimm Hendren, supposedly from some of the parents of Fortino's victims, but were found to be fakes. Judge Hendren has set a hearing for October 9, in Fayetteville, to consider the government's request.
