A new Arkansas pilot program is designed to make the application process for federal and state aid easier.
Currently those applying for state and federal assistance programs go to county offices of the Department of Human services.
Its estimated over $280 million dollars goes unclaimed including money for food stamps, AR kids first, and heating and cooling assistance.
Monday, Governor Mike Beebe and the Arkansas Interfaith Conferecence announced a program called benefit bank.
Sites in seven counties will have volunteers on nights and weekends to help people determine eligibility for assistance.
