Attempted Murder, Suicide and Kidnapping

Police say a child psychiatrist wanted his ex-girlfriend back. They say he shot her new boyfriend, tried to kidnap her, and when things didn’t go his way, he killed himself. Jealousy drove 34-year-old Mark Glen to Terry Daughtery’s house Tuesday night. Terry Daughtery’s mother explains, “You know he had not, I think, accepted the end of the relationship, even though it had been a year or so. He just made up his mind, I suppose, that if he didn’t have her then nobody else would either.” Police say he shot Daughtery’s new boyfriend, Michael Han, and tried to force Daughtery into this car. Police were surprised by what they found. Chief Ron Brown, from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, explains, “We believe there are ten to twelve handcuffs, from Novelty handcuffs to also the kind that law enforcement officers use, in the vehicle, and also he had a set of leg irons.” Two children hid themselves inside the house. Another child broke out through this window. Daughtery’s mother says, “Im trying to conserve my strength because its going to be a long road. I have grandchildren that are very traumatized. It’s an experience that you wont ever get over.” Michael Han is in stable but critical condition at St. Edwards Hospital. Police say he may be paralyzed.
