Nineteen local officers received immigration training this summer as part of the 287 (g) program. The officers belong to the Benton County and Washington County Sheriffs Offices, as well as the Rogers and Springdale Police Departments. In less than a month, the officers arrested 79 illegal residents. Benton County Sheriff Keith Ferguson said the officers made arrest without racially profiling. Ferguson also announced plans to add The Lowell Police Department to Northwest Arkansas Regional Taskforce.
