curiousgeorge2007-11-09-1194638681.jpgAround 175,000 Curious George plush dolls are being recalled because of dangerous lead levels, but believe it or not parents, there is a way to stay on top of all those recalls. The recalled dolls includes five different models-- the "Birthday," "Fireman," "Sweet Dreams," "Tool Time," and "Tool Time With A Soft Face." The dolls were sold with Curious George story or activity books from December 2005 through August of this year. As the holiday season approaches, families are faced with shopping around the growing list of recalled toys. A daunting task, seeing as how a new toy seems to be added to the list everyday. But there is a way to stay informed and it's right at your fingertips. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission provides free e-mail alerts for recalled products, so you can know about them when they happen. The site even allows you to choose which recalls you want to be notified about. To sign up go to www.cpsc.gov and click on the "Recalls and Product Safety News" link. At the bottom left-hand side of the next page click on "Join Our Recall Notification List" and register your e-mail address. Just this month the CPSC has issued 20 recalls, 14 of which were recalls of toys or child related products.
