Tuesday, Police went to Bonanza, Arkansas to set up surveillance video, but when they got to the house, they found their suspects and made the arrests.
Sebastian County investigators arrested 19-year-old Christopher Spearman and 36-year-old Larry Rofkahr Tuesday afternoon. Last Tuesday, at about 10 PM, a local man picked these guys up to give them a ride. Rofkahr demanded the victim buy him beer and cigarettes. When the victim refused, Rofkahr threatened to slit his throat. The victim pulled into a gas station on Hwy 45, and ran to a nearby house for help.
The two men stole his truck. Police followed them to this house where the men got out and escaped into the woods. Police have been looking for them for a week, but Tuesday they found them in the exact same house.
Neighbors say a lot of strange people go in and out of that house. They say they’re not surprised, but they are nervous.
One neighbor, Cynthia Jappmayer, says she’s “very scared now, very more worried, very more protective. We need to put up a fence.”
We also spoke to the victim. He says he’s doing Ok, but he’s extremely worried. He asked us not to release his identity to the public.
Spearman and Rofkahr have both been in trouble with the law before they’re being held at the Sebastian County Detention Center, where they face a new list of charges.
