Vanderburgh County residents had to learn where to cast their ballots this election, thanks to new voting centers. This is the first year the county has left behind the precincts. County election officials started the new centers last year in Evansville and say they were a success. But for the new county voting centers, the response was mixed, some found their places just fine and others called it a treasure hunt, like Larry Luigs. He says publicity of the new Vanderburgh County voting centers wasn't good enough. He says a lot of county residents were unaware of the changes after becoming so accustomed to their normal precincts. Inspector Tim Bryan says he's seen a few lost voters. But compared to the old precincts, Bryan says he likes these centers a lot better. For Luigs, he wants more notice of the new center locations and that the civic duty of voting should be as easy of a process as possible. Officials plan to use this primary as a teaching tool for the upcoming November election.
