Updated: April 17, 2007
The first openly gay student to attend John Brown University has been dismissed from classes. Students of John Brown have to sign and live by a set of guidelines. Its called a Community Covenant and it`s meant to encourage Christian living. Michael Guinn says he was required to abide by extra guidelines. "I couldn`t shake a guys hand too long. I couldn`t hug a guy too long." Guinn said, "If I some how got involved in athletics I couldn`t do the butt slap thing. I couldn`t dress in drag." Guinn says University officials dismissed after finding a picture of him dressed in drag on-line. The schools president says it`s illegal for him to talk about Guinn`s dismissal without Guinn`s consent. But school officials are saying the guidelines Guinn is talking about are being misrepresented.
