Investors remain concerned about high bond yields and possible increasing interest in both Japan and Europe.
We did see the price of oil go down $1.56 to close the session at $60.02 on Nymex. Big trouble came from Google, which has experienced ups and downs the past few days after some internal company information mistakenly ended up with analysts.
The Dow added +25.05 (+0.23%) to close at 11,005.74. The NASDAQ lost -0.92 (-0.04%) to finish at 2,267.46 and the S&P 500 added +2.59 (+0.20%) to close at 1,278.47.
Local stocks finished down and flat. Tyson Foods (TSN) stayed flat again to finish at $13.16. JB Hunt (JBHT) lost -0.39% to close at $22.88. Acxiom (ACXM) lost -0.97% to close at $25.61. Wal-Mart (WMT) also finished flat closing at $45.27.
Today, we`ll see Intitial Jobless claims for the week behind, and we`ll get a look at the January Trade balance.
Overseas in Asia, the Nikkei rose +347.90 (+2.2%) to reach 15,975.39 at the mid-day break in Tokyo -- the broader Topix rose +26.26 (+1.6%) to reach 1,631.84. Back in the U.S., in extended hours trading, the NASDAQ 100 Afterhours Indicator rose fractionally to close the night at 1,660.7.
