Deputies Search for Body of Newborn in LeFlore County

Deputies have arrested James and Lucinda Haskin and face related to extreme physical and educational neglect. Their nine children have been taken into state custody. According to court documents, one of the daughters said she gave birth to a baby girl in August of 2010 and that her father delivered it at home. Investigators say the girl told them the baby didn't cry and her father told her it was dead, then buried it behind a goat pen in their yard.
During the investigation of the neglect, one of the children reported sexual abuse of herself and her younger sibling by their father to investigators. The teen who gave birth said she believes that a boy she met at camp may be the father, according to court documents.
Neighbor, Tim Pruitt, says he can't believe it, 'It kinda freaks you out you know. I mean you don't expect it to happen here at the foot of Poteau Mountain, right in your own back yard."
Authorities continue are still digging up the property searching for the baby's body. Along with 9 charges each of child neglect, James Haskin, 61, is also faces two charges of sexual abuse of a minor. Lucinda Haskin, 39, faces two charge of failure to protect.
