breaking news
There`s good news this year-- taxpayers have an extra two days to file their taxes since April 15th falls on a Saturday. Now, taxpayers have until midnight on April 17th to postmark their returns, or in some cases, file for an extension. So here are some last minute tips from the IRS to help make things easier this year. First, remember to put all required Social Security numbers on the return. This includes the taxpayer, spouse, dependents and anyone listed in relation to claims. Second, double-check your figures. Make sure you have the correct refund or balance due and you used the right figure from the tax table. Next, sign your form. Both spouses must sign a joint return, even if there`s only one income. And finally- send your return or request an extension by the filing deadline.
