Every winter day that Mary Ellen Lloyd walks into her living room she experiences a white Christmas.
She has a small collection of Christmas village pieces. Alright, she has a Christmas metropolis. Dozens of pieces, stacked four feet high, outline her entire living room wall.
Most of the pieces are named after someone special in Mary Ellen's life and she knows where each and every one of them belongs.
"It takes me about two weeks," Mary Ellen said. "I have to have help with the base. I have about 40 boxes with the village pieces in the attic. Each one of those houses is in their own styrofoam box so they take a lot of room."
It's hard to pick a favorite out of all of these pieces but Mary Ellen says the piece with the sledders is at the top of her list. She says all of them are near and dear to her.
