Janitor Charged With Raping Daycare Child

Updated: April 17, 2007
A Bella Vista man is behind bars tonight, after being accused of raping a child in daycare, and police say there might be more victims. Fayetteville police say last Thursday night a six year old in the Sequoyah United Methodist Church daycare told her parents she was touched inappropriately by the church`s janitor, 27 year old Dustin Long. Fayetteville police say they notified Long of the accusations Friday and later that night he was arrested and charged with rape. Law enforcement says they have reason to continue interviewing other children at the daycare. Sergeant Bill Phelan said, "There have been different incidents where he was taking other kids to be his helper, so were looking into it." Longs wife also happens to be the six year olds teacher. At this time police say they have no reason to believe she is involved. Pastor Russell is sending notes home today to all the childrens parents notifying them of this incident. Long is in the Washington County jail. His bond is set at 100-thousand dollars. Police say long has no prior record.
