Boozman & Lincoln Faced Off in Little Rock Debate

By: Scott Marshall
Updated: November 1, 2010

Congressman John Boozman and Senator Blanche Lincoln squared off at their first formal debate Friday afternoon at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock.

The two candidates debated issues including healthcare and the privatization of social security, as well as what to do about extending the so-called Bush tax cuts.

"If we don't extend them on the so-called ultra wealthy, these people making $200,000 as individuals or $250,000 as families, 50 percent of that is small business," said republican Congressman Boozman.

"I absolutely support tax incentives for small business and have fought hard for that, and I've supported tax breaks to the ultra wealthy, but it has to be paid for responsively," said Senator Lincoln, the democratic incumbent.

Recent polls have shown Rep. Boozman leading Sen. Lincoln.
