Our Mission: To END Domestic Violence
Thanks to the Northwest Arkansas community, Peace at Home Family Shelter has seen a dramatic increase in clients who wish to create better lives for themselves and their children. Our partnership with the community began when the shelter was established in 1977. We hope to see it grow stronger until no woman or child has to live in fear, but, rather, has peace at home.
In the year 2010:
We assisted 680 brave women and children escaping the family violence in their lives.
We provided survivors 6,500 safe nights of emergency shelter.
We answered 700 crisis calls to individuals in need.
We provided 7,000 hours of individual advocacy helping survivors find meaningful employment, affordable housing, and emotional support.
Our work is making a difference in the lives of Northwest Arkansas every day. 75% of the women who stayed in Shelter with us last year chose NOT to return to their abuser. They are instead choosing to change their lives and their children's lives for good.
