The local chapter says, in part, they will continue to "serve those who, without Komen funds, would not receive breast health care in our community."
They go on to say their affiliate has never funded nor been asked to fund a Planned Parenthood grant.

"The Ozark Affiliate of Susan G. Komen is deeply saddened by the polarization of our mission but we will continue to keep our Promise to serve those who without Komen funds would not receive breast health care in our community.
"This past week has been a difficult time for many and the decision by Komen to reverse the grant policy was not made lightly. We need to remember that we are a humanitarian... organization and we need to de-politicize our work. We will continue to lead by our mission.
"The Ozark Affiliate appreciates the work that Planned Parenthood does in many underserved communities. The fact is that our affiliate has never funded nor been asked to fund a Planned Parenthood grant. This past year we funded $800,000 to 13 agencies in our 8 county service area. These grants provide breast health education, screening and treatment to those women and families that otherwise would not have received care.
"In the past 14 years the Ozark Affiliate has given over $6 million locally to support those in need of breast health funds in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley. Nearly $2 million has supported much needed research that has benefited many breast cancer survivors.
"We ask that you look at all the facts before you judge our local affiliate. We will always make sure there is no interruption or gaps in services for the women who need our support most in the fight against breast cancer."
