Ballots and books are coming together next week in Lincoln.

Tuesday, March 13th, voters are being called to the polls.  The city is asking voters to decide on a one-cent sales tax increase, with much of those funds improving the city's library.

Nikki Morris is the director of the Lincoln library, she said, "It's extremely important.  As you can see in this building, we are just jam packed in here."

With a vote 'yes' the Lincoln Library will not only get a facelift, but it will also nearly quadruple in size.

Morris added, "It will end up going from 2,800 square feet to 10,000 square feet."

"I think it will revitalize the town, revitalize the buildings around the square.  People will take pride in what they have."

For some in this Northwest Arkansas city, it is more than just pride, it's a chance for the younger generations to grow.

Greg Arbuckle said, "Lincoln library has been big for my family, because I have nine children."

Throughout the years, this home for books has become a center for further learning for Arbuckle's children.

He added, "It has been big to my family, and if it wasn't for the Lincoln library most of them would not have gone to college."

Morris said the library is beneficial to more than just kids, "The library is one of the few things that's for every single person that lives here, from preschool all the way up to senior citizens."

Arbuckle said one cent for a better place to learn is a no-brainer for him, "Worth every penny of it."

Obviously there are others who would rather keep that change in their own pocket, but that's a decision that will be left up to the polls on March 13th in Lincoln.
