Hospital Sued Over Claims Of Dead Body In Storage Area

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
Tony Dawson says he found his wifes body bloated, and still full of medical tubes in Mercy hospitals storage closet, days after she died. Tony Dawsons attorney, Stephen Taylor, said Tonys wife, 56 year old Carolyn Dawson died in her sleep suddenly. Dawson called 9-1-1 and Carolyn was taken to Mercy hospital, but was not able to be saved. Taylor says his client was unable to get a straight answer from the hospital of where his wifes body was. Two days later, Taylor says Dawson went to the hospital and it was a housekeeper that led him to his wifes dead body in a storage area. "Her body was bloated, decayed and tubes still her in body from when they pronounced her dead." Mercy denies the allegations claiming, "The body of the deceased patient was never lost or missing. There is no doubt that she was taken directly from the emergency room to the hospital morgue and then transferred directly from the hospital morgue to the funeral home."
