Wal-Mart will raise starting wages for its employees and implement a cap on how much money a position will pay. This comes just weeks after the Chicago city council passed an ordinance targeting large retailers. In an e-mail response to KNWA a spokesperson said the wage increase is in no way connected to the ordinance passed in Chicago. Although, he did say the company would continue to serve Chicago from location in its suburbs.
