Update: Petrino Was With Female Rider During Bike Crash

By: Matt Turner
Updated: April 6, 2012
A strange twist in the Bobby Petrino wreck story as Arkansas State Police issue an accident report showing that a 25-year-old woman named Jessica Dorrell was riding on Petrino's motorcycle at the time of the crash.

As KNWA reported Thursday night, Petrino was captured on video following his news conference Tuesday saying he was alone on the bike. However, that statement contradicts a news release from the University of Arkansas along the police report that was released Thursday afternoon.

Dorrell is a former volleyball player at the University of Arkansas and now works for the UA's athletic department. The police report says that the accident happened on Highway 16 in Madison County but Petrino and his passenger, Jessica Dorrell, were not present at the accident scene when authorities arrived.

Officers say Petrino and Dorrell were transported to Fayetteville by someone who picked them up in a vehicle. Once they arrived in Fayetteville, police say Dorrell left in her own vehicle while Petrino was transported to the hospital.

Dorrell had no comment about the situation and school officials are also remaining tight lipped. KNWA will provide updates about this developing story as they become available.
