Assistant Head Football Coach Taver Johnson addressed the media before spring practice Friday afternoon.

Johnson expressed his pride in the unity of the football team, saying everyone on the coaching staff understands their roles while Petrino is out. He added nothing has changed in regards to goals for practice.

Johnson said he had not spoken with Petrino since the details of the motorcycle crash, including last night's announcements, came out.

Johnson, who is taking on the head coach responsibilities in Petrino's absence said "you can never get prepared for tough situations like this."  The team had a quick meeting this morning and "went on to business as usual."

He told press that he can't say if he is "disappointed" in the coach because he doesn't have all the facts.  He said Petrino will be communicating with the coaches even though he can't be at the practices.

Johnson says the coaches have not discussed the possibility of Petrino being let go.
