Tuesday night the University of Arkansas fired head football coach, Bobby Petrino, and within minutes, 'Petrino', 'Jeff Long' and 'Arkansas' were some of the hottest trending topics on Twitter.

As you might expect, plenty of former Razorbacks had opinions on what happened at Bud Walton Arena.

Former Hog golfer, John Daly, said via his Twitter handle, @PGA_JohnDaly:

"My first loyalty is to the University of Arkansas. I trust that Jeff Long will do what's best for the program. Everyone in the Razorback Nation is devastated! This is heartbreaking as Coach Petrino is a very good friend of mine! From here, I think we will need a great coach like him to continue our winning ways! I myself, would hold out for a great NFL coach---GRUDEN! #GoHogs"

Former Hog quarterback Ryan Mallett talked highly of former offensive coordinator Garrick McGee, @Ryan_Mallett_15 said:

"GM only coach Ark should look at if they wanna win now"

Drew Smyly played baseball at Arkansas, he said on his handle, @SmylyD:

"It had to be done. Jeff Long is a great AD. Arkansas fans should be happy to have him. He will get the program back with a better coach"

And former Hog football player D.J. Williams told the fans not to worry on his handle, @dj45williams:

"Don't worry hog nation!! I got the offense down. I can step in and coach. I got this !"
