Updated: April 12, 2012
Pro baseball in Springdale isn't going anywhere, anytime soon.

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals announced this week an extension with the Kansas City Royals.  The new 4 year deal will keep the Naturals as a part of the Royals farm system until 2016.

Nats General Manager Eric Edelstein said, "We are extremely proud to continue our player development contract with the Kansas City Royals."

"We have seen the Royals commitment to a world class player development system which extends beyond the field into the front office and the communities we both serve."

The 2012 season kicked off earlier this month.  The team is now at home at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale for a 6 game homestand.
