Thousands of elementary school students combined their drawings Friday to create a single work of art.

All 8,000 Bentonville elementary school students created a drawing earlier this week for the Wal-Art project and Friday they placed the pictures together on the high school football team's indoor practice field.

"It's not just about coloring pretty pictures," says the projects co-creator Brendan O'Connell, "It's about getting kids to think creatively about any idea."

Eventually each drawing will be scanned and arranged to create a mural on Bentonville's downtown square.
