The program will feature keynote speaker Rep. Randy Forbes of Virginia, a national advocate for both the prevention and prosecution of criminal gangs. He introduced the Gang Deterrence & Community Protection Act of 2005 which passed the House of Representatives on May 11, 2005. Congressman Forbes supports legislation to provide additional personnel, equipment, facilities, training, widespread apprehension, prosecution and adjudication of persons who violate state and local laws in relation to production, possession and transfer of controlled substances and to improve the criminal justice system. Republican Forbes` remarks will be followed by a panel discussion by experts in gang prevention and interdiction at the local, state, and federal levels.
