Owner of Iconic Fayetteville Business Arrested on Drug Charges

The new owner of the Flying Possum Leather in Fayetteville was one of three people arrested on drug charges Monday.

Robert Daniel Walker, 64, of Fayetteville, his son James Wallace Walker, 32, Mendocino, CA, and Aimee Renae Clark, 24, of Fayetteville are accused of trying to mail 10 pounds of pot through FedEx. All face felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

Springdale police reported a suspicious package found at the Fayetteville FedEx office to drug task force. More than 10 pounds of pot were found inside.  The task force arranged delivery of the package to 300 S. College Ave.

According to reports, Amy Clark signed for the package and took it inside. Detectives approached her later as she left and searched the residence.  They said they found a scale and baggies, cash as well as a small amount of pot.  She was arrested and taken to Washington County Sheriff's office.

Later in the afternoon, Robert and James Walker, 32, came to the  home where police say  James took the package from the house towards to his vehicle, police said.  Detectives approached and arrested them at the car.

Robert Walker is the brother of Bruce Walker, the Flying Possum's previous owner, Bruce Walker, who died in a fire at the Dickson Street store  in March of 2011.  His brother had reopened the the business this month.
