Tina Yeagar: Survivor and Volunteer

By: Neile Jones
Updated: April 25, 2012
Tina Yeager  volunteers for in the Race Office for the Komen Ozark Race For The Cure.
she says, "It's very awesome. I mean you get to share each woman's story with them every story you hear is very moving."
And for yeager the story of survival is one she knows all too well, because at the age of 28 she discovered a lump in her breast, a moment she'll never forget.
She would eventually learn she had stage three breast cancer and that would mean a double mastectomy and chemotherapy.
The mother of three says now - about a year later - she is in remission, but she will always remember the help she got from The Komen Foundation.     Yeager says Komen grant money helped pay for her mammograms, ultra sounds, dr's visits, and breast MRIs.
