Tense moments at the University of Arkansas Wednesday evening, requiring the help of several police officers and emergency crews.

Fayetteville and University police, along with fire and medical crews, are all on hand after a man climbed to the top of the Garland Avenue parking garage and perched himself on the ledge.

It happened just before 5:00 p.m.

Officers have spent several hours trying to coax the man down.

They've even called in some of the man's friends to help.

The situation is causing quite a stir at the UofA, and police are trying to keep crowds from forming.

According to police officers, the man became upset after an argument with an ex-girlfriend.
