Rogers Changes Siren Testing Procedures

Rogers has announced changes to their tornado siren testing procedure.

 The Police Department currently tests the city system the first Wednesday of every month at 10:00 am.  If the weather is cloudy the test is postponed until the next month.

Here's a look at what's changing, according to a city press release:

The test will continue to be scheduled for the first Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am.

If the weather is cloudy, the test will be postponed until the next day, Thursday, at 10:00 am.

If the weather is cloudy on Thursday, the test will be postponed one final time to Friday at 10:00 am.

If the weather is still cloudy on Friday the test will be postponed until the next month.

The city says the changes will help ensure that the system is functioning in the event it is needed.
