The Bentonville School District will hold a millage election June 26, asking voters to approve a tax increase to pay for a second high school.

Benton County Election Commissioners have approved the district's request for a special election.

Now coordinators are rushing to get things ready for an election less than 60 days away.

Absentee ballots must be sent out by May 12, and early voting will start on June 19.

The district is asking for a 6.7 mill increase to pay for construction of a second high school. The increase would raise taxes on a 200-thousand dollar home by $22.31.
