Open Avenues

By: NWAhomepage
Updated: May 3, 2012
Open Avenues offers instruction in daily living skills and opportunities for socialization. Instructors offer classes in simple cooking, laundry skills, money skills, and other areas that will increase their independence.

We provide employment skills training through our relationships with local businesses and industries and offer job placement services when appropriate.

Open Avenues has a fleet of six buses and offers transportation to and from the Center in many areas of NWA.

Open Avenues also offers job placement services to its clients.

Client progress in the workshop is monitored to determine job readiness. When clients acquire the skills necessary for a more traditional employment environment, the Job Placement Officer matches the client with appropriate job skills required by the employer, and then provides support as needed to assure continued success on the job. As we offer this service to the clients, we offer employees to companies that are considering filling full or part-time positions in their production line.
