Friday night dozens of Rogers parents donned caps and grows for a special graduation ceremony.

It was a commencement for the 'P.A.D.R.E.S.' program, or Parents Advancing Readiness for Educational Success.  This is a 5 session class designed to get Hispanic parents more involved in the Rogers School System, and teach them more about the basic of the U.S. school system.

Organizer Idalis Negron said, "It is a stepping stone, sometimes when you are new to a place, and you don't know how it works, you can be afraid of just going there."

Ruth Lora graduated Friday night she added, "We can see a lot of progress in our kids, because if the parents know what to do they can help their kids and we can get better at school."

In addition to the five P.A.D.R.E.S. classes, these parents must also complete a group community service program.

Organizers say 2012 was the biggest year in the program's three years of existence.
