20th Annual Dogwood Walk

Updated: May 5, 2012
It was a play day for hundreds of pups at Gulley Park in Fayetteville during the 20th Annual Dogwood Walk, benefitting the Humane Society of the Ozarks.

It wasn't just about walking, local businesses and non-profits set up booths and there were plenty of adoptable dogs looking for homes.

Prizes were awarded in several categories, including the best dressed dog, cutest dog and for the best dog trick.

This is the Humane Society of the Ozarks' biggest fundraiser of the year.

"A lot of times we'll be called out in hoarding cases, cruelty and neglect cases and those animals, they need lots of veterinary care to get them back healthy and where they need to be, so that's a big part of where the funds go," says Gretchen Laffoon, HSO executive director.

The KNWA team was also there to show support.

Our own Neile Jones served as the Grand Marshall of the walk and KNWA Today's Laine Baker and KNWA's Liz Hogan helped judge the doggie contests.
