Rogers to Appoint a Fill-In City Council Member

On Tuesday, the Rogers City Council voted to declare a vacancy.
Ward 3, Position 1 was formerly held by Larry Daniel, who died on April 30 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He attended his last council meeting on April 24.
According to the City Clerk, the city will accept letters and resumes to fill the open position until noon on May 22. These applications will be presented to the council at that night regular meeting.
The city hopes to appoint a fill-in council member at the following meeting, scheduled for June 12.
The appointed member would serve out the remaining time on Daniel's seat, which expires at the end of the year.
