On Thursday, Congressman Steve Womack remembered Lowell Police Chief Joe Landers on the House of Representatives floor.

"Our state and nation has lost a valued member of the law enforcement community," Womack said in a Facebook post,  "I speak for Arkansas' Third District in expressing our deepest sympathy to his family, the City of Lowell, and the great state of Arkansas."

Landers died last Friday from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash while on vacation in Florida.  His funeral will be held Friday.
