Police said they began investigating after someone called the Child Abuse Hotline, reporting possible sexual abuse.
According to the police report, officers spoke with the parents of the victim who stated they had no concerns or suspicions of any inappropriate sexual behavior involving their children.
Investigators said they spoke with the victim, who admitted he had been sexually abused by 41-year-old Kenneth McGlothlin.
The police report stated the victim said the abuse started in 2003, with the bulk of it stopping in 2011. But the victim admitted to police, that the most recent sexual advance happened May 8 of this year.
A police report stated McGlothlin is a relative of the boy's father and was living in the same house as the family.
Police said they spoke with McGlothlin who initially denied any wrongdoing, but eventually admitted to having sex with the victim on multiple occasions. The report stated McGlothlin said, "I'm the guilty one."
McGlothlin is being held in the Washington County Jail, facing charges of Rape, Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, and Sexual Indecency with a Child.
