Apparently America didn't have sweet dreams about Phillip Phillips and Hollie Cavanagh, as they landed in the bottom two. In the end Hollie didn't get enough votes from America to survive the competition.
But did she see this elimination coming? Check out the finalists' comments after Wednesday night's performances.
From Hollie:
"I think my first song was very good. I really enjoyed that one. I think my second song was....you know, I liked it. I didn't think it was that bad as they said it was. (Reporter: how does that feel?) It's not a great feeling, you know? Kind of brings you down. But it's just how it is. You gotta keep your head up and keep going, ya know?"
From Phillip:
"You know I think I did good. I had fun. It was a good night, everyone did so amazing, man, so... There's no telling what's gonna happen."
From Joshua:
"Yeah, I got a standing ovation. I feel really good about tonight. I was super excited about going on singing a James Brown song. It was crazy, I still feel the energy from that song and the vibe was crazy. I'm still freaking out about it."
From Jessica:
"I question myself all the time. I think we all do. Throughout the week we're confident. We're like yeah we got this song; we got the lyrics down, blah blah blah. But then like ten minutes before the show we're like oh my gosh, we're gonna crack, we're gonna forget the words, we're gonna fall, it's like...ridiculous."
